I saw an old post about age requirements to advance.I don't think there was an age requirement.I was a kiddie cruiser.Joined 2 weeks before my 18th birthday.I hit the testing schedule just right.I was a Radioman when they were rating at 100% during the Cuban missle crisis.I made RM2/E5 in less than 3 years.

I was getting real short. Didn't give a rats back side about much except getting out. Went to chow one day and I spotted a cockroach on the side of the hot line. I grabbed it and said to the BOOT mess cook, " I just caught a cockroach on your hot line. What do you want me to do with it?"
This punk thought he would show me how salty he was and said, "Just throw it in the soup."
So I did. He says, with a wee bit of SHOCK in his voice, "I DIDN'T THINK YOU REALLY HAD ONE!!"
Showed his azz who was salty.
You know we had those, hit a chief once, man I caught hell.. I was aiming in another direction but it bounced off the bulkhead and hit him in the crow. Lucky me it did not stick or draw blood, although I think he wanted to, But GQ sounded and we took off like we are supposed to. Russian Trawler along side out ship..Between us and our whale boat.

Aw now you guys have bought up somethin I did @ 20 yrs ago.
Take one of those old wooden "COUNTRY MATCHES"...cut the striker part off..take a straight pin cut the head off...stick it in the end of the wooden match...on the opposite end IF you can make 2 slots (and not split the match) take either a piece of light rigid plastic or construction paper @ 3/4 or maybe 1/2" long in the slots...get a drink straw...the ones for malts work better...put the "DART" in the straw AND REMEMBER BLOW INTO THE STRAW!!!! dart should fly straight ...if not play around with different lenghts of feathers or pins
