USS Niagara Falls (AFS–3), a Mars-class combat stores ship, was the only ship of the United States Navy to be named after the City of Niagara Falls, New York. Transferred to the US Military Sealift Command to serve as USNS Niagara Falls (T-AFS-3).

  • I am a plank owner. Came aboard "the Falls" at National Ship Building in San Diego in August 1966. The crew were mostly reservists, but I had joined the Navy after being drafted and had a four year term. That first two years were very memorable and I still have friends to this day.

  • Came aboard in Late Aug. 1976 at Oakland Naval Supply Depot as a Striker(2nd Div.DeckApe) then Sept.76 We left for Wespac and was seasick for a week. Did better after pearl. During first wespac I was a OS Striker made my OSSN on the way home from wespac. Left the Falls in July 1980

  • I was on the Falls for her First Wesrpac cruise. I was a storekeeper and would love to be in touch with others from those days onboard from 67-69.

  • Onboard 82 - 85.  One Westpac, Todd Shipyards and change of homeport to Guam.  Disbo, FSO, Asst Stock Control.  Goodtimes...(mostly)

  • On board from '75 to '77. Home port, Oakland Ca. Picked Her up in Subic Bay, during a West Pac in '75 as a fresh boot.
