  • Right out of Boot camp in Orlando to Adak, talk about going from the oven into the fridge. I worked in the Fire Department ans remember going to Fire Station #1 at ComSta. Man the snow. September 1976 to September 1977 ( I think).
  • In 1979 I was stationed with VAQ-131 at NAS WHIDBEY ISLAND WA. I met this sailor which I cannot remember his name at all, however; I thought he was a very nice guy to be around. One thing I remember about him was the fact that while he was stationed at NAS ADAK AK, he was an athlete in smokers boxing. His nickname there was Rocky. For different reasons I believe it. Randy I think was his first name, worked at the MAC hangar??? He loaded and offloaded VR DC9 aircraft.

Commissary Store Adak Alaska

I was stationed on Adak from 11/65 to 12/66. I worked in the Commissary Store. I met SH2 Arron L Adams while I was stationed there. I met his wife Pat and their children. I lost contact with Arron after leaving Adak. I am not sure if I spelled his name correctly. I would love to reconnect with him and his family as well as the guys I worked with at the Commissary Store.Thank youMark Dougherty

I was stationed on ADAK from 1965 to 1967.  Flight crew member on ADAK135560 and ADAK 135569(P2V) aircraft>  Bored many a hole in the sky around the Alutian Chain,  would like to back and see how much it changed since the base was shut down.  Would love to switch tales with anyone there during the same time span.

Crash Crew

I was there from June 71 to june of 72. My duty was the Crash Crew. Williwa, Mucklucks, Gut poker, alot of tundra and a woman behind every tree. Could'nt wait to leave but always wanted to return for one quick stay for old times. Wow what a place for a duty station. But made the best of it and had alot of good times there.
