  • Served on the Jason from Sept. 1986 to Jan. 1992. Was the LPO, and then Shop Supervisor of the Pipe Shop (56A) until Sept. 1990. Made Chief in 1990. Was offered the option of being the Shop Supervisor for the Weld Shop (26A) and Pipe Shop. Or going to the Repair Dept. Planning Office as a Hull Planner. Decided I needed a change, and went to the Planning Office. Did three WestPac deployments onboard the Jason, including the "90/91" Desert Shield/Desert Storm deployment. Also played on the Jason's award winning softball team. A lot of great memories, and great friendships during my almost 5 1/2 yrs. onboard her.
