  • Oh don't get me wrong. I did NOT accuse Chief Lawson of having any people skills...LMAO. That's funny. But he'd definitely have your back in battle, as long as you didn't screw him....THEN he could look the other way at the most inopportune time...LOL. As long as HE was doing the screwin', He'd have your back...LOL.

  • Yes you're right and I always hoped that Chief Lawson would happened onto this site and I got to talk to him again. Just to see how things go...LOL. I'm a lot different than I was back then and I'm sure it would be an interesting conversation. LOL> Good to hear from you, and I've waited a long time to come across an aquaintance even though we never met, we ALMOST crossed paths..LOL. It's great to talk with you.

  • oh!  one question,,,When did the Chief gt people skills?  for the two yers i worke for em i would never suspected he had any!  lol, but you are right, if i hadda go into combat, he would be the man to have at my back.  He defintly knew his stuff

  • thats the one thing i loved about the service, its a nsall world and u never know who u will run into that knrew or worked for someone you knew

  • YES he was! I never got to meet him officially because I transferred out of AIMD to Security rather quickly. But he was there when I check in in April 1981.

  • Ohhh was Charile Diggins still there whe u was there, he was a civilian worker fot 910

  • lol did u know he was deathly afraid of snakes, one moring i brought in a rubber snack, opend the door to the office, the Cheif was at his desk and i sad 'Hey Chief good morning!' and tossed the rubber snake at em, u should have seen dem long legs of his tryuing to run while he was in his chair!  PO3 Jeff Pardo ( think hats the right spelling) and PO1 Glen Burton where rolling on the floor!

  • LOL no worries about the typos. I know what you mean and sometimes I have MY times that I have to blame someone for moving all the damned keys around on me...LMAO. Too funny.

  • HahahaThat's funny. I was in work Center 920 when  I was there. Small world. And yes he was impossible to work for. He was a great guy with more talent than almost any mechanic I've ever known, But his people skills just plain did not exist. But I also have to say that if i ever had to go to battle, I'd want to be there with him. He was a go getter and he wasn't afraid to say or do anything. He was also a 14 year Senior Chief, Something that was unheard of at the time. For some reason, he hated me more than anyone else and he did some nasty things to me while I was under him. I wasn't a wimp and I worked my tail off, and I partied with the best of them, but I couldn't do anything right by him either. He made me a better person in some ways so I can't complain so much. But aside from a nasty divorce, working for him was the most stressful part of MY life. LOL.

  • btw pardon the typos again, half asleep here
