    I went to RM "A" school in San Diego, CA 1969. First duty was in Ft Allen, Ponce, PR Feb 1970 to Feb 1972. Then on to Naval Shipyard Philadelphia, PA 1972 to July 1973. Stayed in the reserves until 1984, had duties in San Diego and Pearl Harbor, HI. Loved the job and the people I worked with, sure miss all of it looking back now. Would do it again if I had the chance. Harry-Monticello MN

    Finally, a site for Naval Communicators. I joined in 63, went to "RM-A" scol in Bainbridge, and then to my first duty station at NAA, Navradsta (T) Cutler, ME. Spent the next 28 years in Naval Communications. Worked my way up through RM1, W-1 through W-3 and to LDO LCDR before I retired. Had a great time and wish I could do it all over again. Now the sailors wearing the sparks are called "IT's". The days of sitting in the radio shack listening to morse code are long gone. Sure so miss them.

    I had been a Radioman from 02/1983-07/1988 and I will never ever be sorry for that choice. I loved the job and the people I was with for the most part were great guys-especially now that I am able to look back through older eyes.

    I was stationed at Navcommsta Puerto Rico, Fort Allen from May, 1970 to December, 1971. Attended RM "A" School in San Diego. Loved every minute of it.

    I was stationed at NAVRADTRANSFAC Capas, Tarlac, RP. This was the transmitter site for NAVCOMMSTA San Miguel.

    Joined Navy on Jun 14 1972. Went to RM-A school in San Diego, Ca in Sept to Dec 1972. Was a 2319 my last three years in the Navy on the USS Ranger.

NAVRADSTA T Ft ALLEN/NAVCOMMSTA PUERTO RICO 1962-1964/1971-1974

I'm David J Davies USN RET....MY first duty station was NavRadSta (T) Ft Allen, located in Ponce PR.Attended RM A school in San Diego in 1962,  Arrived in PR and shipped over in 1964,  AttendedRm B school at Bainbridge MD.  My second  tour was from 1971 to 1974 at NAVCOMMSTA PRI worded the Commcen as a tape ape, was transferred to the Recvr site and then to Xmters.When I arrive on the second tour I worked as the Watch Traffic Chief.  Married a Puerto Ricangirl from Ponce and still married.
