  • Robert, I'm with you my friend. I haven't had a paycheck in 15 mos. and my reserve retirement doesn't kick in until 2017. It would be cool to serve with my son too! BTW - Everyone have a Merry Christmas!
  • BTW - ENC, Congratulation on the birth of your Grandson with a capital "G"!!

    >I went to my son's graduation in '04. My wife and I did not know about select seating. I donned my dress blues and afterward, it was wonderful to walk around town together in our blues! I am so proud of my son. He goes over 5 in October. Plus he and his wife just gave us our first Grandson on 1 Aug. Ooh Yah!

I'm anticipating the PIR package with tickets today. PIR will have already started by this time next week SEP03. My recruit was told that I would receive a different package. We will see! Likewise, I am very excited about putting on the uniform again, and spending time with my only child on his special day. I am already getting a little tickled over the idea of my Georgia born and raised boy spending the next 33 weeks in "A" school at Great Lakes in the winter. I'm from Philly originally and still wouldn't be real excited about this. LOL! PROUD FATHER, YOU BET!

Must be a good day then! We re-commissioned the USS King (DLG10/DDG41) on Sep17, 1978 and my big flashy retirement ceremony was Sep17, 2000.

  • I still want to see more of the world. I'll have to live just a very small portion through my son now. He graduates and Pass in Review at Great Lakes 3SEP. I hear I get select seating. It will be great to put on the summer whites and anchors again! I'm not an old timer, couple more years.
  • Man oh man - the way these old timers keep crawlin' outta the holds, it won't be long before we have a full crew. I honstly believe that I'd give my left pinky finger to be able to go on one more WestPac. Couldn't care less what hull it was on, I'd just like to go !!! If anyone is interested, the TUTUILA (ARG-4) is having a reunion in Myrtle Beach South Carolina September 23-24-25.

One Huge Event

Greetings fellow Navy retirees! I served for twenty five years, and have told many sea stories. I like to categorize them just a little by putting them into Liberty wild tale type things, and Operations this is what happened on an exercise or evolution type thing. Do you have a really BIG EVENT that was very cool or maybe not so cool that you would like to tell the rest of us old salts?
