  18 Oct 1978 - 31 Aug 2004. I had six years of drilling Reserve time from 82 - 88. I loved it! I still dream I am Active at least t times a week.

  Coming up on seven years of being retired from the Navy, and to think when I went in back in April 1980, I was the youngest guy in boot camp and on my first ship. It really gives one perspective.

  Hello all, glad to join this site. I am a retired navy storekeeper and my last duty station was aboard the USS Dallas SSN700 stationed out of Groton, CT. I still work for the navy in Newport, RI and work for a defense contractor. Can't believe I've been retired from the Navy for over 14years now!! Where does the time go???

  Dan Your dad took Dwight D Eisenhower's say'n, brilliantly weaved in the age linkage and created a caveat for all of us dinosaurs. Well done to your old daddy. My favorite say'n these days is that " It's a shame youth is wasted on young people."

  I first enlisted in June of 52, out in June of 55, back in in 55, and retired in Jan of 73, whick, if my math is still worth a damn, has me being retired for 36 years. But I'm still upright and taking nourishment, with an occasional lady friend thrown in, so it's worth it. My old daddy always told me that - "it ain't the age of the dog in the fight, but the amount of fight in the dog". GO NAVY !
