Naval Station Rota is a Spanish naval base commanded by a Spanish Vice Admiral near the Spanish town of El Puerto de Santa María, NavSta Rota is the largest American military community in Spain and houses US Navy Sailors, Marines, and their families.

  • CTM stationed at FOSIF just after the move to Bldg 533 inside the Wullenweber array (bull ring) late 1972 and stayed in Rota until separation in March 1976.  Awesome duty station.  Our boys were born in the Hospital on base.
  • stationed in rota from 75 thru 78 with omd flew c1 and c 131 with occasional hops on the h 46 . sure miss all that. loved the cheese and olives and miss all the balcony parties.
  • I was stationed in Rota from 1974-77 at the Naval Communications Station. It was my all time favorite tour of duty.
  • I arrived in Naval Station Rota, on my 21st birthday back in 1982. I was attached to Fleet Ocean Surveillance Information Facility (FOSIF) which was located in the "Bull Ring" Had a great time there... one of my favorite duty stations with a lot of great shipmates.
  • Arrived Rota July 4, 1989 with NMCB 40 was in Camp Mitchell section of the base. Left Jan 8, 1990 Had a great time there.
