I wasn't actually driving busses. We got (I believe) Chevy minivans for the Sima transportation. I mainly drove people to different piers and then picked them up for lunch and end of work day.
Hello-I was at SIMA Long Beach from Jan.1986-Nov.1987. I was a sonar tech but worked with the gunners mate and fire control tech doing maintenance on the reserve ships, that is until I injured my knee and was placed on light duty. I was then transfered to transportation and was one of the original shuttle bus drivers when we first got the mini vans.Wow!! Pretty skate duty, but someone had to do it.
Brian Babcock you and I were assigned to 57-A Lagging Shop together under Chief Nitchize in 1987. I was transfered to the pump shop and then to Corrison Control under Chief Jackson. Was discharged in March of 1989.
