  • I picked her up in Key West in 71, rode her thru overhall, Alabama and Mississipi, on to Charleston and then on the Sardinia. Left her in 75 to CCTX. Great ship and crew.
  • I was Weps Repair Officer from summer of 77 to summer of 79. Lived in Cannigioni. Sardinia was a great place. Weapons Dept had a great bunch of guys.
  • I was on the Gilmore from '79 to Decom, In the Tech Library, then R-3 in La Madd, Italy.
  • I remember asking about the Gilmore before arriving, and what it was like there. I was told there was a woman hiding behind every tree... too bad there werenn't any trees on the island!!

72-75

I went aboard in Key West, thru the overhaul, Charleston Missile Load Out, across the pond to Sardinia. 72-75. Enjoyed the life, times, and the Italians in Santa Theresa di Galura.
