Glad to hear that you might have tracked down Jeff! Thanks for taking the time to track him and others down! Sorry, but I don't remember a PO Chastain. He must have gotten there after I transfered. I did think of another shipmate though. Do you remember PO 1st Class Sink? I believe he ran the shop for a short time before I took over. He was a short guy who had about 20 years in at that point and I remember him riding a motorcycle. I hope that you and your famiy have a very merry Christ-mas and a blessed new year!
Hey CHIEF!
Hard to get on this computer because I work to much! Working full time teaching and running my own business. Go figure "CHIEFS HEATING & AIR", Well I will have to look for some old photo's of the shop. I think my daughter has all my pictures. She was sorting 50 years of pictures out for me and putting them in albums. Hope all is well in TN. I look back at all the accomplishments and I remember all my mentors. Yes Chief you made a great positive impact on my life. I made it to the top of the ladder because of the people around me. Thank-you for the wisdom. Well I will get back with you soon.
see ya,
Curt
Thanks for your kind words Chief! Thank you for your service and for taking care of your people! I have always felt that is the most important part of leadership and you touched peoples lives with it!
Hey Gerald; I checked into 105 near the end of the WestPac. I was an AME-3 and of course, a flight deck troubleshooter. I was there when we transitioned from the A-7As to the A-7Es and completed the work-ups for the Med Cruise. I re-enlisted in '74, just before the Med Cruise and was sent to NATTC Memphis for "B" School. Were you there for the deployment aboard the Lexington? A combat air wing on the flight deck of a Essex class CVT. That was a scary time on the flight deck. Most of the ship's company crew were only experienced with trainers(TA-4s,T-28s etc.).
Hey Brother, doing ok....hangin' in there like a loose tooth....I know wish I could afford to go to DC...got a feeling those Occupy Wall Street dumas's are going to start shit with the Vets and it will be on then...hopefully it will stay peaceful and end with good results...like Odumas's resignation...y'all take care my friend...Blue Eagle
Hey Gerald
First all welcome home and thank you for your service. I was on e of the cooks trapped in the aft galley when this all went down. I am fighting with the VA trying to get something from them for PTSD. The records of it seem to have been lost of it ever happening. I am home and kind of safe.
