    THANKS CHIEF FOR YOUR KIND E-MAIL WELCOME. I WAS A CHIEF BEFORE GETTING A COMMISION , BUT MY FAVORITE MEMORIES WERE WHEN I WAS A CHIEF RUNNING THE AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE DEPT.

    Sorry about the confusion, but there was no selection for Senior Chief Hull Tech, so I selected Fleet Admiral, which is a wartime rank and the last officer to hold that rank was Halsey in 45. There are no living Fleet Admirals, but plenty of Chiefs.

    Thank You for the Welcome Aboard Chief Karr. Just happening onto this site was a real jolt of memories that have been some of the better parts of life. I look forward to possibly meeting up with some of my old shipmates in the future, and I will enjoy being an active part as much as I can.
