  • Thanks for the hello.

Well except for one year earlier, and being west coast we were in basic training toghether in different places. It is the boot photo.

Had to smile I missed four days of basic training for Prep school.
A YN 3 caught a problem with my records when the plane stopped in KC. Arrived on an afternoon flight and was scheduled for a morning flight. The MP's took me in hand parked me at a dump hotel, and picked me up for the flight. This YN3 noted that there was no dental record, so he sent me to dental at AFEES to have a record made. Of course the reason I did not have a record the Dental Officer in San Diego trashed. "You don't have enough teeth, but once you get to Bainbridge, they don't care its grades that count" They did not buy that in KC and I was back in my company by Thursday.
  • Thanks for the Welcome Aboard, Bill. Looking forward to more interaction as things settle down here at home. I will add more detail to my service assignments. I retired as an AQCS (Aviation Fire Control Technician Senior Chief). Around 1991, AQ was merged with AT (Aviation Electronics Technician). It was a sad day. There was a certain "esprit de corps" among the AQs. But, life goes on.
  • Thank you.

My husband was on the USS Shark on active duty years ago. He is in the Navy Reserves right now striving to make Senior Chief before he retires. He may opt to get out soon as it seems he is getting older. He put together some amazing video for the Navy unit last year as many of the classes are being put on NKO now and no longer needed. He has been a leadership instructor IT (SS). We love the Navy and all its vets. We love this country. God Bless the USA.
    Be well.
  • Thank you for the welcome and information, Bill.

  • Thank You Bill for the welcome aboard! Am I the only Navy Airman onboard? I don't see any VP Squadrons (VP46 Grey Knights) P3C Orians
  • Thank you so much Bill for the welcome and for all that you guys do for our country's freedom and the freedom of others. You all truly are our heroes.
    God Bless,
    Joy Hawkins
