    I think that kid said he was on the Yosemite with you...  Could be.  I can still picture him in my mind...Damned if I can remember his name.

    I have helped two guys set up a small foundry, both didn't know shit about how to make them work, I have also made my own 12 square flask, bottom boards and bought all new air rammer and tools to do a foundry of my own.   Ran out of money, health went to shit and I don't have a place to do it right now, but still want to.  I also made a bunch of patterns.  That 12 square flask is sitting right next to my work bench right now.  Needs a little work to make adjustments to it.  It works real well, but I need to tweak it a little to make it even better.  Built it from scratch.  Brand new rammer made by Jet.

    Sounds like you're having fun.  I'm just setting up my garage and shop now.  Never had room before and was too busy working and raising kids.  Just got the walls up last summer and I'm still insulating, wiring, and paneling.  I still have a lot of other projects going on at the same time.

    Look for me on FB.  There at a lot of Tom Kitchens, but only 1 of me.

    Glad you made it.  Are you on Facebook?  I spend a lot of time there because I have a lot of kids and grand-kids and it's the only way I can keep up with them.  With today's society and all the divorces and remarriages, I ended up with 15 children (natural, adopted, in-law, etc.), 15 grand-children, 2 great grand-children,  More of all on the way and a lot I've never even met, yet.

    I can't remember his name.  I did know it at one time and tried to remember it, but that was a while back.  Getting old.  Anyway, I was here in Alaska working at a convenience store graveyard shift and this kid comes in.  White , brown hair, and he has on this High School "Letterman's" Jacket.  You know the kind with the usually white sleeves and the School colors making up the center vest part.  It was a dark blue or black.  The Molder emblem was on his left sleeve.  But it was NOT a Navy issue emblem.  It was about two inches round and black on afield of yellow.  I never saw one like it before, so it had to be aftermarket.  Though he might have found it in a geedunck shop someplace and was pretending to be a Molder, that's one reason I asked him if he was really a Molder.  He was about 23 or such, and this was about ten or twelve years ago.  I was working in Anchorage at that time but I live out here in bear country now.  The letter I wrote you was right after that and I had hoped it would be forwarded to you, but it came back and it is long gone now.  He had said you retired, so it was after that, or you were getting ready to hang it up.  Maybe you and him decommed a ship together or something.  Any way, GLAD TO SEE YOU FINALLY TURNED UP!!  Now If I could just find Doug Paxton.....Lami  says he went to Oregon, but I haven't found him yet, either.  Had a line on Jim Reardon, but he disappeared.  Larry Johnson is on my phone and I call him once in a while.  MLCM Glenn Maguire lives up here in Kasifoff, Alaska.  I have found others, but my experience is if they don't want to be found, they won't, and if they don't want to be friends, they won't.  Some are dead, can't help that.

    I have been trying to find you for over thirty years!  Wrote you a letter after a young laddy came into my store and had a Molder patch on his jacket.   I told him I knew you and he made me describe you.  He said, "Yup, that's Tom Kitchen all right".  I wanted to THANK YOU for telling me about Japanese Kendo.  I took lessons in Sasebo in 1973 and joined a couple of Kendo Clubs since I got out.  Had a lot of fun, met some nice people and learned a lot of stuff.  Can't do it any more, but I still have all my Bogu.  GLAD TO SEE YOU ON HERE!!!  Check out my page.  Lots of pictures and stories!!

    Hi Tom.  I remember you.  How have you been?  I got out after almost 10 years.  Went to work for a civilian foundry, but it went bankrupt pretty quick.  Changed over to Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering.  Retired now and living the good life.
