  • hey joe ,talked to a rep from a congressionals office today ,signed a release of info  form an explained my issue,she will get with her boss and another congressioal an maybe make the va move on the expansion of the renewed acknowlegment for our service on ships in nam an other health issues.we have to let the va know we knowof others with same problems.   

  • hey joe hadn't spoke to ya in awhile ,how r things goin with ya?i talked to my dav rep a month ago an he said my claim was close to {goin into the system},am hopin my latest diagnosis from my internist spoke volume to them. there was no more implication but right on the nail head,type 2 diabetes an copd 3rd stage should be language they understand.who know how long that was a known factor if they deny me again they will hear from a congressional!!!also seen a liast of ships exposed to agent orange our ship was on it imagine that!!!stephen gibson usn retired.

  • heard from a sen. pat roberts today via email,said their is a bill passed that says specific ships off coast of nam are qualified for compensation.didn't say what ships or types,got dav an va busy again with appeal.dav asked for my address to send me authorization forms to sign.told him i'm not givin up till i get it.

  • i have a web site that lists point d as having asbestos an mesothilioma exposure for any who served on her.amphibious warships asbestos and mesothilioma there are a lot of ships on the list,the list is alphabetical but we are on the list.hope this helps,va guy said we can appeal and he will look at it over the week end.

  • hey,wasn't a gunner's mate but was in the deck dept.think i remember your name though.had you looked at the possibility of asbestos exposure?it was used in building of the point d.va is denyin any claim of service connected disability from the point d,it was strange they decommisined her after they overhauled her in portland in the mid 70's.
