Look under the tab "scuttlebut" there is one tat deals with the VA, may be that will get you pointed in the right direction.
They started doing that weight control thing in the 80's, at the time they would tell you that you were over weight and it was up to the individual to do something. When they came up with the physical readiness test and once again it was up to the individual to prepare for it. In the late 80s commands started developing exercise programs for personnel on weight control.
Did you know at CT by the name of Mike Martin? We did the 81-82 Westpac on the Truxtun.
I have been lucky, I have not had to deal with the VA.
