David: What a surprise! Its was great hearing from you as I do remember you....and your blond hair! I believe you came onboard after I did. I often think of those cold morning having to take the bus up the mountain to the office. Yea, I worked with a PN2 directly but PNCM Pinkerton was the man in charge as I recal. I did all the reinlistments/discharges at the time......They were all very nice....spoke to Master Chief several years later and ran into my old roommate in Adak here in Irvine, CA. I look at pictures on the web of Adak and what good memories. Yea, elected to go back to AOCS in Pensacola and finished the first phase and DOR.....eventually went to USS Pensacola (LSD-38); later went to Classifcation shool in San Diego and went back to RTC Orlando as a classifer. Love the job of interviewing the "boot campers". Afterwards went to Washington DC and oversaw the Navet Program for the country. Later applied for OCS in Newport and came out an Ensign (line). Did the boat routine out of San Diego and eventually was in charge of Enlisted Programs (NRD Los Angeles) for several years and retired in 1992. Fun and games as they say.....I live here in San Clemente, CA with my wife and four kids (all but one out of the house). Eventually was a VPHR in a Pharmacecutical company for several years and now have my own recruiting company base here in San Clemente. All is well.....I see you got out......I certainly understand. I now have a son in the Coast Guard who will soon be a Rescue Swimmer. Watching him go through boot camp and other hoops is like reliving my career. Have you heard form anyone else from Adak?
