Strange to see her at sea! When I was on her, she was chained ass-end first the Island of GUAM!! I only was on her for about an hour. I went there with a guy named Dan Butler, who had just transfered to the USS Hector and had been on Proteus for three and a half years and was assigned to the foundry. I remember the big red dots painted all over the deck. He told me to stand on one of them or I would get run over by a Marine.
