I do believe this was one photo from the first time we were in Australia. All the VIPS and other guests were aboard. If this is a photo from that time, RM2 BOSLER, and another fellow that left before I did were outside doing maintenance that could not wait. The OOD and OPS and no telling who else told Radio that the maintenance men would have to have on totally new dungarees including new dixie cup or they would not be allowed outside the skin of the ship. When the salvo was executed the fire from the blast had too much heat that it singed the guy's hairs on their arms and made the sweat under their dixie cups crackle and pop. I never will forget that day.
