My San Diego bootcamp photocirca, 10/89

I was in San Diego when the earthquake hit San Francisco in Oct. 89. My mom freaked and called the Red Cross thinking I had surly been killed.......not knowing I was far enough away to not feel anything.

  • I reported to RTC San Diego on September 16th, 1989 and was the first company (312) Division 6 to go smoke free, they took our cartons of cigarettes immediately. I was also there when they ceased all the recruits saluting the company commanders (E-5-E9) because you had sailors reporting to ship and saluting Petty Officer 1ST Classes and chiefs out of habbit......Anyone recall this......
