What a beauty. But judging from the Skyhawks on the flight deck, this picture was taken a few years before my time on her. I remember when we visited Singapore for the first time on our cruise, that a lot of small boats with sightseers gathered around her just to look and take pictures. She even made front page news with a picture on a local newspaper when we arrived. We had to moor in the bay with what seemed to be cargo ships from every country in the world. Including Russia and China. Our liberty boats were those troop landing crafts. Now that's a story in itself!
