Each mold (there were FIVE of them!) took nearly all the sand we had in the foundry. Each took two #70 crucibles of steel at 210 pounds each to pour. Foundry was humping for a while on this job! No plaques or cumshaw then! You other Sand Rats take notice: We didn't have those fancy Aluminum coats back then!!!
