    Great pic I'am an old tanker sailor I was on the USS Navasota AO 106 (62-64) had a few emergency breakaways (black oil days) and gas for prop jobs.

    It was quite an interesting task the first time I witnessed this operation. I recall one time when replenishing underway, one of the ship's instruments went sour and we collided. Obviously emergency breakaway was sounded and some damage was done on one of the sponceons. It was an experience that will not be forgotten.
