The third USS William C. Lawe (DD-763) was a Gearing-class destroyer of the United States Navy, named for aviation metalsmith third class (AM3c) William C. Lawe (1910–1942), who was killed in the Battle of Midway.

  • Reported on board June 30 1969 as PNSN transferred in September 1971 as a PN3 to Pensacola NAS. During this time we conducted 2 middle east cruises, spent time in Cuba,  trained NA cadets, repair work at Jacksonville shipyard. Great ship with even a greater crew. Fair winds and following seas to all.

  • I have a yearbook of my fathers from the USS Lawe, 1967. I am looking to give it to someone who will appreciate it. Please contact me if interested.
