USS New Orleans (LPH-11) was an Iwo Jima-class amphibious assault ship in the United States Navy. She was the third Navy ship to be so named, and is the first named for the Battle of New Orleans.

  • Good Day Shipmates. I served on The USS New Orleans LPH 11 from Jun, 1972 until Oct, 1973. I was assigned to V-1 Division. Did the 72/73 WESPAC and Operation End Sweep. Great Ship, I truly enjoyed my Tour on-board.

  • looking for ship mates who served during end sweep. VB A claim and this could help a lot of us.

  • When New Orleans went into decom, I was the choice of either getting out or extending my enlistment. I guess you could say we both left active duty together...3439408567?profile=original
