  • Served in Mighty Mo from Jan 1988 to De-Commissioning March 31, 1992

  • My first year in the Navy (1969) I was stationed at NISMF Bremerton and worked on the de-humidification equipment aboard the "Mo".  As a non-rated striker I stood brow security watches and greeted tourists as they came to tour topside.  Working on the DH gear I used to wonder throughout the interior of the ship and probably caught a couple nooners in the Captain's Stateroom!

  • reenlisted on board the MO, when she was mothballed in Puget Sound. I was at the time a crewmember on the USS Pyro Ae -24 In 1981
  • Posted a video of the Mo's 1986 Golden Shellback Ceremony in the video sections. Couldn't link it here, it 's called day by day and the ship's PAO put it out.
  • I was on the Mighty Mo 86-89 in 5th Div deck dept. We took care of the Surrender plaque and the Starboard side decks and bulkheads. We also had a great bunch of men that always worked well together (YEAH RIGHT) we also had a 40ft liberty boat and the Capn's gig and motorwhale boat for rescue. I seen alot of the world on the Mo,also some good and bad things. I miss the people !!
  • My brother was on this ship (David Rudolph) 85-87 I believe. He might have worked in either second or third division as a deck seaman but was striking for Gas Turbine technician.
