USS Jesse L. Brown (DE/FF/FFT-1089) was a Knox-class frigate of the US Navy. She was named for Jesse L. Brown, the first African-American naval aviator in the US Navy. Mrs. Gilbert W. Thorne, Ship's Sponsor.

    Hello All!

    Not much longer befor the reunion in June. This is just a reminder to all that the reunion is June 11-12, 2010 at the Radison HotelCharleston Airport. The Hotel phone number is 1-843-744-2501 the event coordinator is Chris Walz and her extension is 7125. We have a special rate of $80 per night so mention that you are with the JLB group. We will have a dinner banquet on Saturday night and the cost is $35 per person. I have recieved money from some of you, but for those of you who have not paid for the banquet yet please fill out the attached registration form and send it and your cheque to: Todd Masus

    Sorry this took so long but we finally have a hotel for our Reunion. It is the Radisson Hotel Charleston Airport. We have a discounted rate of $80 per night. They will also be providing a free hospitality suite for our use starting on Thursday, I will stock this room with beer and softdrinks as well as snacks on Friday, so make sure you stop in and see me. Please call the hotel directly to make your reservations and be sure to mention that you are apart of the Jesse L. Brown group. This will ensure us not incurring banquet room costs. There will be a dinner at the hotel on Saturday evening, this will cost $35 per person. This dinner cost should be spot on but if there are any left over funds we can discuss dispersement at our meeting Saturday morning.
