  • Thank for adding me. I was in V-4 from June 71 to May 72 as the Iwo was changing ports. I had been Vietnam with the Seabees for 14 months. Before that I was an F-4 plane captain with VF-121 a RAG training squadron. I enjoyed my time in V-4. Spend most of my time in pump room pushing buttons during ops.

  • ÊT-3 On board 78-80. Sure would like to hear from all the guys I served with.
  • Mr. Schmidt, I was there. Thanks for the memories.

  • HM2(SW) onboard from 11/83 to 12/86.  It's an interesting thing how the majority of your memories are good things.  I remember some bad things that happened, but the professwional responses to those incidents still make me feel proud that I was part of the group.  I worked for a couple of good HMCM's.  Dave Krueger and Bob Grimm.  If you're out there - hello.  Fond memories.

  • CWO2 from 1975-1977.  AIMD Maintenance/Material Control Officer.  In the Bicentennial Year, 1976, we were the host ship for Mardi Gras in New Orleans, deployed to the Mediterranean and stood watch on July 4, then evacuated the American refugees from Beirut where we earned the Humanitarian Service Medal.  I had the OOD In-Port Mid Watch on New Year's Eve where I wrote the log in verse and was one of the winners in the Navy Times New Year's Log Contest.

  • I was on board from Jan 1976 to July 1978. I was in the Air dept. working for Chief Chester, Lt. Mike Panchura and Cdr. Bill Lang. It was a great part of my life. I believe the PO1 was named Tilley. If anyone knows any of the above, please let me know where they are. I hope all are okay.

  • My first sea-duty command, boarded in Barcelona Spain in 1-74. Was assigned to Air Dept V-1 and later V-4. Departed in 6-76.

  • My cousin, Claude Logan, served on the "IWO" from 1975 to 1979 as a Boiler Technician 3rd Class. Claudie died on March 30, 2002. Anyone who wants to share anything about him please e-mail me at >>ramjam2002@yahoo.com >> Thanks, Terry Alesandrini
