  • A cousin F1 Vernon "Dusty" Rhodes was not a survivor. Don't know if he went down with the ship or if he got off the ship and died in the sea. If anyone has an answer to that, please let me know the circumstances.
  • My grandfather,Chief Watertender James Herbert Patrick, served twice on the Indy, having been called back to after service upon the outbreak of WW2
  • I had the honor of being in business with an Indy survivor, Joe Klaus, about 30 years ago. With regret, I heard he passed away a few years ago. He used to talk about people from the movie "Jaws" showing up at one of their survivor's reunions to ask about their shark experiences for use in the movie, and the Hiroshima bomb they delivered to Tinian Island before being torpedoed.
  • my grandfather Thomas G Goff was the oldest survivor until his passing 2 1/2 yrs ago he was 100
