I ajust re-reading my last post. Let it be known, I do know how to spell, but my computer is not working correctly.  On with the Frontier days:  Many of us old guys

came from the depression era and did not have much but we were working hard

to survive, and as Tom Brokaw said in his book we were part of that Greatest

Generation.  In the Navy we had lots of good food and a nice bed.  I gained weight and got in great shape as some old pictures I just found shows.  I did not hate the Navy, but was not allowed promotions (even though I qualified) because they said allotment rules prohibited increases.  I did get my crow though as you old guys know what we called it.  From Guam I got my first airplane ride -- C-47 to Johnston Island (got airsick) refueled then on to Barber's  Point, Hawaii, then to San Francisco for my flight back home to Des Moines, IA.  Before the war I was earning double the national average income, so it cost me $25,000 of lost income for my 4 years servce..  Iowa gave me $300.00 mustering out pay that I used to buy a 1939 Chevy... That is all  I ever got from any government, but have paid lots of taxes.  I mean INCOME TAXES for those too ignorant to know the difference. Today  47% pay NO income taxes but just want free stuff. Nothing is free!!

No college education but was a newspaper linotype operator for 17 yrs. Then through hard efforts became a financial advisor for about 30 yrs. did very well, had client all over  the country. They made money, the companies I used 

made money and I made money. All went well until the politicians messed it up

through te mortgage laws they used -- another form of "affirmative action".  I better stop it gets me so worked up to see what has happened to our great nation. Last suggestion: Buy a cheap book, "Free To Choose". by the 

great, late, Milton Friedman for an education and pass it on to your family. We

are headed for Greece, Spain & other socialist nations -- 16 trillion in debt for

your children.
