USS Bowfin (SS/AGSS-287), Balao-class submarine, was a ship of the United States Navy named for the bowfin, a fresh water fish of the eastern United States. She is decommissioned and serves as a memorial at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

  • I was stationed at Sub Base Pearl Harbor from 1978 to 1980. While there I was part of a volunteer group that readied her for the museum. What a blast.

  • the picture of me in the engine room was me on the bowfin'...... on my time off... i checked it out.
