USS Grand Canyon (AD-28) was a Shenandoah-class destroyer tender built at the tail end of World War II, and named for the Grand Canyon on the Colorado River.

  • Reported aboard in 1972 after returning from Viet Nam,...advanced to ET1 and assigned to R-4 admin, and shop 67A repair,...got loaned out to Repair Dept Admin (ARRS) Analysis/Records and Reports Section for 18 months...then changed homeport to Jacksonville, Fld. transferred off in 75.
