Was the lead ship of her class of guided missile cruisers in the United States Navy. She was launched as DLG-26, a guided missile frigate under the then-current designation system, and reclassified as CG-26 on 30 June 1975.

uss belknap time aboard

was stationed on the belknap from feb 90- feb 93. My first 1200 pounder, lots of hard work ran both firerooms and did some time in the lab. Divisional lpo had its moments but I have to say being homeported in gaeta and on that ship brought me to be the BT I could have been always worked hard and played hard (not plitically correct nowa days).
