    I was assigned to VA-122 from 1966-1969

    I was initially assigned to VA-122 when they were still a "Spadron" under Cdr. Tex Birdwell.  They were flying A1's and training with T28's.  About 2 months after I went to VA-122 they got their first A7-A Corsair II.

     

    I was a plane captain until my TAD transfer to IMA Power Plants where I served until about a month before I was discharged on Sept. 11th, 1969.
