NWEF was stationed at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque,NM. Previously it had been known as NASWF. In the early 1990's the unit was a victim of BRAC. The duties of NWEF were transfered to China Lake.

    Alton, I arrived single and left for sea duty in '69 still single! I am married and on the 30th of this month we will have 40th anniversary!
    What years did you serve at NWEF? I understand many of the old guys from NWEF still live in Albuquerque.

    Ok all you NWEFers its time to start talking about our history there. I was told when I got my orders there if I was single I would get married and if married good chance I would lose the old wife for a new one. I was single when I arrived and I did get married and I'm still married to the same woman after 37 years. All my groomsmen were also Navy from NWEF.
