  • NSSF Groton; QA Shop 1986-1988
  • Went to Sub school in Groton, March 1972, class 7219, TM1 Trotter was class instructor.
  • My last patrol was out of New London in the fall of 1973. I was scheduled to be discharge as I didn't have enough time to complete another patrol. Well, as I was walking up to the USS John Marshall for change of command a dock worker asked me "hey sailor where's your sea bag?" I said I was getting out...not...we went back out to sea as we were the experienced crew we headed to the Mediterranean. Egypt and Israel were at war. It was only for a couple of weeks.
  • I was at the foundry on lower base from90 to 93. this was awesome shore duty
  • 1962- 1963 New London Sub base Shore duty.
    X Div.
    Rubber & plastic shop. We also fiber glassed ICBM Masts on the subs.
  • Was at the Carpenter/Pattern shop 1987-90, R-6 Div. Loved the Golden Gate's sandwiches!!
  • Stationed here 1985-88, in the Foundry 81A R-6 division and as R-6 Division LPO. Alot of good memories.
  • I was on shore duty 69-70 with armed force police and rigging loft Subbase repair shop Advance BMC retured to sea duty

ISO OM's 1979 - 1981

I'm looking for fellow Opticalman who worked in the periscope shop 1979-1981. Specifically, those who remember installing, removing periscopes, cleaning periscope packing back at the scope shop and treating periscope head windows with 3-Hept. You may remember me as "Duke" Thanks
