  • Was assigned to Rotary Aircraft Test Directorate from 1977 to 1978. Made AT1 in April 78 and was honorably discharged in July.

  • Made HM 3. Assigned to the hospital lab from 69-70.

  • Was Food Service Officer from 9/80-9/81. Retired 30 Sep 81 and couldn't afford to live in the area, so I moved to Goose Creek, SC.  Pax was a good place to end my 23 year career.

  • I lived in base housing from 93 to 97 but was one of the Seabees assigned to NRC Solomons which was a great tour of duty for my last one since I retired out of there in May 1997. But they did away with the military taking care of the center and I guess they got civilians doing it now.

  • Hello Pax. River. I worked part time at the Fleet Reserve Club (off base) and also at the EM Club as a bartender. I worked the AWP in the AIMD Hanger. I was aboard from 1974 to 1977 & retired after 22 years of Honorable Service. I really enjoyed my tour at Pax. River as well as the people.

  • I was stationed at Pax River from 1968-1970. I worked in the Boat Division.
My duties consited of Sea and Air rescue...Transporting Seabees on an LCM8 boat to Solomons Island which was being developed as a resort.....Securing the shoreline at sunset and working as a mechanic on various AVR crashboats.

  • First duty station after boot camp 1963 to Feb 64 called DC and asked for a ship.

  • I was stationed here at the Naval Air Test Center (Service Test) from 12/70 - 6/74

  • First duty station out of "Boot camp" in 1964 as part of the Seaman Guard. Still had slot machines in all the stores and made many beer runs to D.C. where the drinking age was 18. Lots of great memories.
