The Naval Air Facility at Mayport was a limited operations stations. Post re-alignment, it is now part of NAVSTA Mayport. Back in the day, it was only open from 7am - 11pm and primarily supported the LAMPS Squadrons.

  • Station at the fuel farm 1985-1987 as a 2nd class it was a good command, one chief, one first class, three seconds, five thirds and a few airman. We had five fuel trucks and we also provided fuel to the ships on the piers.
  • Reported to HSL-46 in May of 1991 and was deployed with Det 6 to the Gulf.

  • Assigned to A/C Op Det at Mayport from 1990-1992 to work with Flight Surgeons in support of the air personnel. TAD to BRCL NS Mayport.

  • I was stationed NAF Mayport as part oof Ground Electronics from '84 - '86. I wokred at the Trasmitter Site, Mobile Communications, supported the LAMPS Squadrons and Harbor Operations.
