The minesweeping detachment operated 12 or 13 57-foot, fiberglass-hulled minesweeping boats (MSB). The MSBs fought with machine guns and grenade launchers and carried surface radars and minesweeping gear for clearing explosives from the rivers.

  • Guys my first duty station was Min Div 112 in 1957 I also did about 3 months in MinRon 11 Tool shop under the Min Ron 11 Office .I went to Sasebo with the 10 C Gas turbine Boats I was on the MSL 11 & 12 boat. When I went to Viet Nam there was an old BMCM Busby who I knew from Min Div 112 in 1957-58 was Danang  Harbor Pilot he was KIA 66-67 not sure .

Locate Name of KIA

I was attached to Mine Squadron 11 from 1969 to 1971 as a BM2 in the sail locker.  I am trying to remember a  KIA .  He was on a MSB, attached to mine division 111 or 112..  He was killed in 1970/71 If any one knows who this  is, because sadly, I can't remember his name.
