A Veteran himself, Bob Ahern and his family formed The Ahern Family Charitable Foundation in response to 9/11 in November of 2001 as a charitable nonprofit organization to assist veterans and current members of our military fighting the war on terrorism. Just a note that next month the wife and I will have been married for 39 years.
She's already planning the 40th - some big expensive one from the sounds of it.
Hi Vets. Just joined,Yup, I'm a old timer. Joined in 1956. Radio School in MD. First duty station NAF Lajes Azores for a year and a half, then to Norfolk Va to the USS Vermilion AKA107 'till I received my Hon. Discharge. Yes that was the period of Dot. Dash- Navy. I made RM2 with P1 (pro-pay). I'm married and living in Leominster MA. Retired Electrian, after 35 yrs. Doing a lot of traveling in the USA, Best place to see, and a lot to see. Try it, you'll like it....Andy
I've been a part of this site almost since it started but don't get much time to get here.
I thought it would be good to join this group since I live in Walpole, Ma.
I grew up on Long Island, NY but ended up in Mass for college. I was in the reserves at the time and switched units from Freeport, NY to Quincy, Ma.
Went on active duty just before my senior year in college. After getting out returned to college, grad. school and met my wife (a Roslindale girl). Been married for 38 years.
