    I was a BT on USS Blandy DD-943, and while you went to the MED we went to Vietnam in 72-73

    Hi Jim!

    I was a BT on MITSCHER (DDG-35) in the old Mod Squad. In fact we went to the Med with you in '73.

    Desron 26 also known as "The Mod Squad" in the early 1970's was Admiral Zumwalt's experiment to see if outstanding officers one rank less than usual  could be as effective as their more experienced counterparts. My ship, the U.S.S. Josephus Daniels DLG/CG 27, was the flagship for the squadron.
