That sounds about right the way I remember too. But I don't think we had whole turkeys with stuffing while on the ship and I'm pretty sure they served ham as well. They did their best to keep the traditional food available so we didn't miss out on what we had at home. My favorite two are stuffing and pumpkin pie

That was pretty long ago, that would have been the Thanksgiving of 1968 In Guantanamo Bay, as I was out of the Navy by Thanksgiving of 1969. I know I was on the station for that Thanksgiving and for the one in Norfolk and previous stations also. As best as I can remember, (I am old now, lol) it was turkey for sure, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, I can’t remember, but I doubt any filling, some kind of vegetables, a salad and at least pumpkin pie if not any other type of pies baked by the night shift bakers.

Thanks Corky . When you were CS what was typical of a Thanksgiving meal from the enlisted mess hall?

Good Luck on Deer season.                        all for now  Dave
