Agent Orange AS Cecil Field VF and VA 174

After Co 110 Orlando and AT A school I was sent to NAS Cecil Field VA 174 the wonderful E 9 Chief sent me to the Galley where the wonderful E 6 sea bee and I had a chat on my prior experiences with Lums the next day I was to learn potato pealing and my favorite Salad Chef where I leaned to love Blue Cheese dressing and Mid Rats, they missed my AT 3 exam and a WO 4 in charge made a call  and mine was reordered.  After 90 days I returned to AT shop and was stopped by the E 9 Chief of VA 174 who …See More

Great guy to work directly for made E 5 in 2 years and 4 months, reassigned to Quality Control Library E 6 billet E 5 pay . Rebuilt the entire library from debris collection Anything I needed Chief Woods staff AMSC Dicky whatever you need,, largest garbage cans in any office. All hands library up dated. They all thought they would get rid of me when Navy Capt Pinkeypank came for inspection I was at mess hall for lunch. They were wrong Its hard to miss a 6'2 Navy Capt with that name when you salute him We had a great exchange man to man. : ) I was informed when I developed Diabetes II that it was service connected at VA 174. A VF 174 e 6 used it on the entire runway wheels watch high power and gun sight areas, He was denied his Agent Orange VA disability benefits and told it was not related, He published his story on line . He died since he posted it I recommend you all read it, and the EPA superfund sites for VOC and ground zero was the VA 174 hanger .

I deeply owe two of my Co 110 shipmates for throwing me over the large barricade wall on the physical test of boot camp .fortunately out of sight of the chiefs in charge of the exercise Charlie Burns asked me privately having witnessed my passing the two largest best physically fit in the Co at the leap of over 2' above the wall how I did it.. Adrenalin pure Adrenalin Really care to do it again so I can watch looked like you were thrown over that wall. Nope never mess with perfection : )

In my first day of active duty as an E 3 with 120 days of reserve time I was put in change of the recruits on the bus to Orlando. At the base EM1 Charlie Burns called me into the office and said you are in charge  forge my signature C Burns  excellent you are the Co clerk and E 6 when I am not here. You assign all duty maintain a list of all the crew 24 7 control the smoking light and assign all watches. and you have a clipboard not a rifle.  Oh and one more thing you are legally responsible for the entire crew and their safety and conduct when I am not here. .
