Emmet,I loved being stationed,at Philadelphia naval shipping yard.I learned A LOT there,I will use for life.I loved the indoor pool&movie theater&canteen.library.I studied alot,there.&the spectrum,watched A LOT of hocky&music concerts.I miss it.did you ever visit chestnut street,A LOT of good restaurant 's there.

Hi Emmet Mike Jones here glad i can talk about old times. Iwas B. T. 3. On board the coral sea from 74. 79. I was involved in the evac of Saigon and recovery of the ss. Mayagriez Cambodia did two west pacs and two drydocks i miss it wish could go back in.

Thank you for the welcome Emmet.  I appreciate it.  Rota was a very good duty station.  My wife and I were active in the Boosters Club supporting the school.  I usually did sliders and she worked in the trailer fixing up hotdogs, etc.  I often think of the setups for the various events and how hungry the Marines were when the 'gator freighters' came into port.  The grills we used (barrel halves) could accommodate 96 sliders at a whack and sometimes we'd sell out a whole grill full to just four or five guys.  Couldn't keep up with the demand the first day or so after those guys came in.  Thanks again for the welcome.  Jim

Thank you for the welcome.  I am interested in shipmates that attended hospital corps school from Nov. 1965 to March 1966.  Also, interested in shipmates that were stationed @ Annapolis Naval Hospital from March 1966 - July 1967 & Wash., D.C. from Aug. thru Nov. 1967.

 Thanks for the welcome Emmit. Glover was a good ride, never made it to Gitmo  but wast fortunate enough to be on the crew of the captains gig while in Marblehead Mass. 4th of July 1976. Marblehead being the home town of General John Glover of  Green Mountain Boy fame.
