It's my understanding that the ship I spent two years on (USS Vancouver) was offered to the community of Vancouver WA for possible museum. The offer was declined because it was too expensive even though the ship was donated. Instead she went to Texas and was recycled. I was disappointed of course since Vancouver WA is only a four hour drive from my home

Thanks for the list.I have been on a few Museum Ships listed and some not listed.

Member of Destroyer Escort Historical Museum (USS Slater DE-766), Visited the USS Midway (CV-41), SS Lane Victory, USS Missouri (BB-63), USS Texas (BB-35) and USS Iowa (BB-61). Also a few submarines scattered about that my aging mind cannot recall at this time...Memories
