True Story.....

Luke AFB is west of Phoenix and is rapidly being surrounded by

civilization that complains about the noise from the base and its

planes, forgetting that it was there long before they were... A certain lieutenant

colonel at Luke AFB deserves a big pat on the back. Apparently, an individual

who lives somewhere near Luke AFB wrote the local paper complaining about a

I am sick and tired of hearing the talking heads blabber about "Homeless Vets"!

There should not be a single vet that is homeless while we have housing sitting and rotting that could serve very well as temporary housing for those who have served!

As an example, the former Alameda Naval Air Station! Houses and barracks galore, sitting empty and no other use that the city can come up with right now! I mean come on now! How stupid and ignorant are the politicians and the military leadership and the VA?…

Patternmakers Rule!

Just wanted to wish a Fantastic Independence Day to all! 

I was on the Gilmore (AS 16) in La Madd from '76-'78... and was given charge as ranking PM right out of "A" school.  A big thank-you to PMC Mirckey (sp) for his leadership!

I was assigned to R-1 Carpenter Shop (64 A) and later went to Rubber and Plastics (57 B).  I met a lot of great people co-ordinating with the  Tech Library, Foundry, Machine Shop and others.    There were some excellent R&R trips to Sicily,…
