An old Kodak Brownie in a sailor's footlocker provides new pictures of Pearl Harbor Attack 68 years later.

Posted on September 29, 2009 at 3:00am 1 Comment

A friend of mine that lives in middle America just put together a page using pictures that were recently developed from an old Kodak Brownie camera that had been in a sailor's footlocker all these years. The quality of the photos speak for themselves. Using modern developing processes not use in the 1940's has made these probably the best pictures from the attack on Pearl Harbor that has ever been produced.

There is some stats added along with these pictures to make this the best webpage… Continue

It's a place where you can instantly chat with another vet and talk about whatever comes to your mind within reason. You can come and talk about the good o'le days, different places you've been and the MOS's that you've held. It can be about your upcoming vacation or about family life or lack of.… Continue

Military humor in the form of YouTube videos

Posted on April 28, 2009 at 9:40am 1 Comment

Me and my wife have been den parents to a group of Marines that are currently stationed in 29 Palms MCB and we've been having a great time. My wife cooks up a storm and we all talk about the Marine Corps today and back in the day. We learn a lot from each other and we provide a safe environment for them and keep them out of trouble.

Anyway, these guys all carry iphones and turned me on to some of these YouTube videos and I'm sure there are some for every branch of the military. Since i… Continue

Todd - sorry I've not replied to you, for some reason I'm not getting emails from the system. Not sure on the number of Marines here but (as a gator), I'd love to see more!

Mahalo Tim,
My profile picture shows in the background all of the Marines that sacificed their lives also on the USS Arizona and are still on USS Arizona.
I couldn't help but notice that I'm the only Marine to join this site so far and I hope that I'm not the last. I believe that the Marines have played an important part in Naval history and should never be excluded. The same goes for the Navy, without you guys, the Marines would never have made history without sailors manning the bridge!

Hi Todd, I just wanted to say, Thank you for sharing the photo's of Pearl Harbor. It is one of many places (all World War 2 sights) that I would like to see. Great Pictures!

The picture you see is aboard the USS Arizona last year on Memorial Day. If you didn't know this, this tourist attraction is operated by active duty sailors in uniform and I recommand everyone to visit this site at least once in your lifetime. It's a very moving experience and this was my second time on the Arizona but the end result was the same both times. I and everyone else there was moved to tears after looking at the oil that comes to the surface and the sacifices made by our Navy. I will post more pictures after I get my composure back. Semper Fi.
