I'm in Birmingham, Alabama of all places. After I retired in Aug'69, I went to work for a company that subcontracted me to Southern Company (parent company for Al Pwr, GA Pwr, Savanah Electric, Mississippi Pwr and Gulf Pwr) then when the contract expired Southern hired me to work at a research facility (PSDF) in Wilsonville, AL (out there in no man's land). The pay was good but the company was so big (over 33000 employees) that they didn't really care for their people. Since I was on salary they expected me to work all kinds of weird hours and I put up with it until they cancelled my vacation for the third time. I left the company with after 13 years with a nice 401k plan.
Now I work for Talon Aerospace (www.taloaneospace.com) as the QA Manager. We built Anti-collision Lights using LED technology for commercial aircraft. B757,767,777 and the entire Airbus fleet. hopefully retire soon.
How about you?
