I was stationed there from 1960 to 1961 attached to theRATCC (Radar Air Traffic Control Center).  I was on duty that day.  I was sent to help with the clean-up after the accident.  I'm sorry I don't have any pictures.  I had some, but lost all my pictures, slides, etc. in hurricane Katrina.  If I remember right , it was a A3J (RA5C) that went in in the bay.  I remenber taking some of the UDT team into town in my 1958 Chevy.  Sorry I can't tell you more.  The old head don't work as good as it used to.

This is Wayne Nobles, I was a photographers mate at Pax from 1960 - 1963.

I was assigned to H-8 that day to shoot movies. I remember the event very well and along with an an old friend am also trying to find any articles about the crash. Let me know and I will do likewise.
